OUR CORE VALUES

For our core values, we create Leadership through The TEAMAKER  Framework: Fostering Belonging and Social-Emotional Learning. Through the TEAMAKER framework, we cultivate a culture of leadership that emphasizes transparency, empathy, acceptance, mindfulness, accommodation, kindness, equity, and respect. These values guide our efforts in fostering a sense of belonging and promoting social-emotional learning among our students and community members.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP PLEDGE

As a youth leader, I pledge to:

Be Transparent: I will communicate openly and honestly, keeping everyone informed and accountable.

Be Empathetic: I will understand others' feelings and perspectives without judgment, and support them.

Be Accepting: I will welcome everyone for who they are, creating an inclusive environment.

Be Mindful: I will be aware of my surroundings and how my actions affect others.

Be Accommodating: I will be flexible and supportive, meeting the needs of my community.

Be Kind: I will be friendly, caring, and considerate towards others.

Be Equitable: I will treat everyone equally and make sure everyone has a voice.

Be Respectful: I will treat others with dignity and kindness, creating a positive atmosphere for everyone.

Transparent leadership promotes open communication and accountability, fostering strong community relationships. Youth leaders ensure students are informed about elements impacting their educational experience, nurturing healthy communication connections between staff and peers.

I AM EMPATHETIC

Empathetic leaders validate others while maintaining high standards. They understand and communicate empathy for present challenges without judgment, encouraging exploration of diverse perspectives. Youth leaders strive to view unique situations through the lens of others, promoting understanding and support.

Youth leaders create inclusive community relationships based on acceptance, regardless of identity intersections. They encourage individuals to express their unique selves, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued.

I AM MINDFUL

Mindful leadership involves awareness of the environment and interactions, fostering connections between staff, students, and peers. By being present and utilizing information learned about each other, youth leaders make mindful decisions, implementing the TEAMAKER method effectively. ​

Youth leaders create a supportive and flexible environment, addressing the needs of the community. They work with staff and students to establish accountability while being accommodating whenever possible, ensuring a foundation of support.

Kindness is a cornerstone of behavior, marked by acts of generosity, consideration, and concern for others. Youth leaders cultivate a welcoming and caring community, encouraging kindness without expecting praise or reward.
